New Square Shopping Centre Donates £2,000 to Local Charities

New Square Shopping Centre in West Bromwich is spreading the festive spirit by donating £2,000 to local charities to support the community.

The centre has chosen to donate £1,000 to its partner charity, The Kaleidoscope Plus Group, which promotes mental health and well-being across the West Midlands, and £1,000 has been donated to The West Brom Food Bank.

The donation was made to support the charities in the absence of the centre being able to carry out its normal fundraising activities, including its programme of family events, in 2020.

Keith Turner, Manager at The West Brom Food Bank comments:

“It is great to see local business supporting the community they are based in, particularly at this present time with the Covid pandemic causing disruption everywhere. A great deal of my time as manager is taken trying to ensure that we have enough donations to meet the need of the area.

It is amazing to me that during this time of a national emergency that local business are willing to support our work, despite the uncertainty that I am sure they are facing. We look forward to working with New Square and the rest of the town centre in ensuring that this vital work can carry on.”
