New Square Announces 4 Steps to a Smile as Charity of the Year

New Square has announced local not for profit organisation 4 Steps to a Smile as its Charity of the Year 2022.

The shopping centre will work alongside the charity over the next 12 months, fundraising through a variety of activities, including the centre’s popular programme of events.

“It’s been an especially difficult couple of years for people, and we wanted to find a charity to support that has a true positive impact on the local community. 4 Steps to a Smile has done some amazing work and fitted the bill perfectly. We’re really looking forward to developing this new partnership and working together on fundraising initiatives throughout the year.”

Jackie Clay, Centre Manager for New Square

The centre asked people to nominate a local cause close to their hearts through its social media channels, with over 700 responses and nominations.

“We can’t wait to work closely with the New Square Shopping Centre. This will most definitely help with fundraising. We can help many more women and children who are in desperate need, with regards to clothing, food and essential items.”

4 Steps to a Smile Founder Linda Sandhar-Haynes

4 Steps to a Smile has supported women and vulnerable children throughout the West Midlands over the past 21 years through a number of initiatives, including providing packs for women fleeing abusive relationships, creating ‘Bundles of Joy’ kits for children and babies to give them the best start in life and running a community food bank for those in need to support.
